Maureen A. Tehan Scholarship (established 2022)

Maureen Tehan (1949-2022)  cared so much about St. Rita School. Her three sons attended St. Rita and Maureen volunteered at countless St. Rita School events over many years. Her husband, Bill and sons, Bill, Kevin and Tom, created this scholarship to honor Maureen and to assist children and their families who desire to attend St. Rita but may not have the financial means to do so.

Kim Mastrangelo Memorial Scholarship (established 2012)

The primary goal for the Kim Mastrangelo Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial assistance for families who need help providing a Catholic  education for their children in multiple Rochester Catholic schools, including St. Rita School and those in grades 6-12 at Aquinas, Bishop Kearney, McQuaid or Our Lady of Mercy.

Building a Brighter Future Scholarship

The Building A Brighter Future Scholarship is a need-base tuition assistance scholarship available to student, K-8th grade, across our 16 Diocesan schools for the 2024-2025 academic year. The scholarship advances our mission to educate, inspire and develop children into future leaders of the Church and community by expanding financial support for school families.

The Reverend John A. Reddington Scholarship

The Reverend John A. Reddington Scholarship Fund was established under the Will of Reverend John A. Reddington to provide for Catholic education at any level and for college education (non-denominational) for residents of the Diocese of Rochester. A scholarship committee exists to review all applications and to select individuals to receive scholarship grants. Applications are due April 30, 2023

There is no limit on the number of times a students may apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are not automatically renewed. Students must reapply annually.

Scholarships applicants are eligible to apply for assistance once per calendar year and there is no limit on the number of calendar/school years an applicant may apply. Scholarships are not automatically renewed each year and students must reapply annually.

The Scholarship Fund is a needs-based fund, but the student must be performing to his/her potential. This past spring the fund had 94 qualified students apply for the scholarship and were able to assist 94 applicants.

Scholarships awarded are in the average range of $100 to $500 per year. The committee will only consider those applications that indicate a family’s maximum yearly income of $60K or LESS and require proof of school registration of student attending.
